hi friends,
as u all know, the first sunday of august is being celebrated as friendship day all over the world. i think these "special days" have become so frequent that we tend to forget those days that are really special to each one of us!!!Mothers day, Fathers day.........and the list goes on. So, friends, do u really think we need a day to celebrate such intimate relationships??I would like to know what u people think about it!!! By the way, Happy Friendship Day to all of u!!!

hi
interesting post.yesterday,i talked to almost all of my friends.only one wished me while the i doubht the rest even knew about friendship day.log on to 123greetings.com and you can find that on each and every day, something is celebrated.one does not know whether such customs exists(you know there are 208 countries, with each having their own customs and traditions).may be just as we indians celebrate children's day and teacher's day, some legend may be attached to friendship day, mother's day etc.But there is also a possibility that the corporate houses like hallmark or archies have invented such days so as to boost their sales.
its good that you have opened such a debate,as i was intersted in raising some points.
on february 14th, when the world celebrates Valentine's Day (I am not interested in going deep into the relevance of the Valentine's Day),in india there is a habit among a section of the society to mask the role of moral police and create a pandemonium in the society with a justification that it does not suit Indian culture. But is should be remembered that the basic foundation of indian culture is tolerence and to imbibe the good values of other cultures.if such tendencies are encouraged then the day is not far behind when these people will give a war cry for banning Christmas celebrations as the Lord was born far away from India.
